In the 1940's William Spratling had over two-hundred silversmiths working for him. Some of these went on to have their own silver workshops and made their own designs. Most notable among them were the three Castillo Brothers, Hector Aguilar, Antonio Pineda, Margo (Van Voorhies) of Taxco (she was an American and there she met Antonio Castillo the youngest of the Castillo brothers). All of these designers are highly regarded for the quality of their work. Pat Areias Sterling has strove to continue in this tradition.
