Mexico is the largest producer of silver in the world with the silver mine of Penasquito in the north eastern part of Zacatecas. The mine contains silver, gold, lead and zinc. It is owned by Goldcorp and has the ore processing capacity to deal with 130,000 tons per day.
The second biggest silver mine is in Poland, located in the Legnica-Glogów Copper Belt.
The third largest silver mine is in San Cristobal, Bolivia.
